Latchel is a Y Combinator-backed, high growth, and well-funded startup seeking a full stack developer for our rapidly growing engineering team. We are a fully-remote company and invest heavily in creating a strong culture to keep us connected.

Post-Y Combinator we are ready to expand our internal team. This is where you come in.

Our Technical Challenges:
We are a tech-enabled operations company. This means our technology is designed to solve real-world operations challenges and simplify the oftentimes ugly interface between technology and the real world.

Our clients are property managers and we act as their 24/7 maintenance department. This means our software has a diverse range of users: the property managers, their tenants, their (and our own) contractors, their clients (the property owners), as well as our in-house operations team and on-demand maintenance troubleshooters.

If you enjoy creating simplicity where others see complexity, this is a great opportunity for you.

Our Tech Stack
Our application is built in: AngularJS (1.x), PHP (Laravel framework), PostgreSQL

We heavily utilize: Stripe, Twilio, Sendgrid, AWS

Other tools we use: Slack, Discord, Fullstory, Raygun, Zapier

Engineering culture

πŸ‘‹ Daily standups
35 remote teams β†’

We do Weekly Kickoff meetings and daily standups. In each daily standup we'll also schedule out regular check-ins throughout the day with other team members that we're working with. For example, you may schedule a check in with product in the middle of the day to make sure you understand all the requirements for a feature you're working on.

⚑️ Agile development

We do weekly sprint planning and story point sizing. We are very tied into Atlassian using Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.

🚚 Continuous delivery
36 remote teams β†’

We release often (weekly at minimum) with new features. We follow a philosophy of continuous improvement with rapid iteration. We don't launch things that are perfect. We launch things that work and then continuously improve on them until they're the best they can be.

We believe in code depreciation. Unreleased code loses value over time.

πŸ“š Learning & sharing
36 remote teams β†’

Our team uses Google Meet for regular video conferencing. Most meetings are recorded so team members that aren't available can watch them at a later time. We also use a lot of Slack and we even have a Discord channel for easier collaboration when working together on a feature.
