Leading remote companies like Doist, GitLab, Xapo and others have answered some questions about remote work in their teams. There’s so much to learn from them! Remote work brings with it a lot of amazing benefits, but there are also some challenges to overcome.
"If you haven’t already, develop a strong set of core values and use them as a foundation to develop your remote culture." – Doist
"First, we make sure people can and do take ownership of their work. Teams have the tools they need to succeed and are actively involved in decision-making." – Teamweek
"Do it whole-heartedly, and make a full plan for how to do communication before you start." – Safetywing
It’s always useful for other companies to learn from different experiences, and at the same time it is also interesting for people looking to work remotely. Reading about different companies and their thoughts, values, visions and expectations gives you great insight of what it takes to really work remotely.

"Though we have an office, we don’t care where you work. Or how. You make your schedule and can work from wherever you want most of the time. We have a few meetings where we need to be together, but you are mostly in charge of how you want to shape your day. We believe you should be able to structure your schedule for what makes you feel the most energetic, creative, and happy."Interview with Unsplash
